1080p to xbox 360 through TVersity
i usually use wmp11 to stream my regular movies to my 360 cause i didn't think hi def streaming was possible until i ran in to a program called TVersity that said it can do that. everything seemed like it was gonna work out great until i tried to play a 1080p movie in .mkv format i got the "the media is not supported error". however i found a program especially made for xbox 360 called XenonMKV that downsamples mkv audio and changes the movie to mp4 format so it can be streamed to my xbox without converting the video at all. i used that and then i was able to play my movie in TVersity in full 1808p but the problem is that it plays for about 15 minutes and then it instantly stops and i get the "media is not supported error however, when i replay the movie and skip to the part where it stops, it plays fine for another 15 minutes and then it does it again. i have transcoding turned off in Tversity. i can't figure out the problem. help please.

Re: 1080p to xbox 360 through TVersity
your xenon mkv is failing at encoding on the fly. try downsizing the file and stream at 720p with xenon. if it is able to play longer than 15min, that means your computer is not capable of encoding a 1080p image fast enough(it can't keep up after 15min), or perhaps something interupts Xenon.(what is your computer specs btw). basically to me, your MKV isn't being encoded into a MP4 after the 15minute mark.
another thing:try converting the file into a format that the Xbox support, then stream from TVersity without any on-the-fly encoding. |

Re: 1080p to xbox 360 through TVersity
Best bet would be just straight up converting them into MPEG-4s which the 360 plays pretty smoothly. You might lose a couple audio channels but they still look pretty good. I use MPEG-4 and TVersity and they play fine.
