Cry Ps2 help?

ok so i bought rock band 2 for my Ps2 and when i put it in the disk drive it I'm not sure what it does but it doesn't read the disk...... I dont know what is wrong..... It reads other disks like Guitar hero 2.... I'm at a loss for what to do

Try cleaning the inside of the disc tray get rid of the dust same on the disc. Then re-try.
If it does not work check that the game is the english version.
If it isn't you need to buy the english one. The english tag is NTSC, on the side of the box.

its a no go :(

so more info... when i go to the browser screen and close the disc tray the "Reading Disc..." text flashes once then disappears... hope that helps

It sounds like as if the laser reading your disc is blunt or not present at all.
There is no possible way to check this without proper instruments.
Best advice - Take it to a hardware shop - Ask them to check it out.
Tell them the exact problem.

Usually a hardware shop where they fix computers or mobile phones.
Your probably looking at about £15 to £40 depending upon the problem.
If you do take it in let me know what the problem was. See if I was foolish enough to let anything slip by me.
