hi all Is there any way you can transfer music frm a portable device to the xbox hard drive

no sorry, only from CD, where it 'rips' it onto the HDD. though you can play directly off the portable device. Ipod(if you have update) FlashDrive, mp3 players etc. best way to go is getting an external HDD, make it into the fat32 format and chuck yo music on there. then stream off it. easy and the music isnt clogging up your xbox hdd space.
