Conversion to use R/W/Y on a monitor with only VGA, DVI, and HDMI outlets.
Essentially, my question is stated in the subject:
I have a new monitor and it has slots for HDMI, VGA, DVI, S/PDIF, and audio-in outlets. My X-Box 360° plays just fine since I can use a direct HDMI connection for it from the console to the monitor, but I also have a Playstation 2 that I want to play on the monitor. The Playstation 2 has the typical Red/White/Yellow male plugs, and my monitor does not have the Red/White/Yellow outlets. Basically, what I am asking for is what adapter to use, as no one I have spoken to in person at the typical electronic retailers like Best Buy or Radio Shack has been tech-savvy enough to answer my question in any way other than directing me to the Internet. I have scoured the Internet, and the only adapters I am finding are DVI to R/G/B, not DVI (or anything else) to R/W/Y. Please help! My monitor was supposed to function as my gaming television, and New Egg--where I purchased it from--was painfully unhelpful in anything relating to support. This is a double-post, as well, since it is gaming-related as well as computer hardware-related. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated...links to adapters to buy to fit my needs, anything. |

Re: Conversion to use R/W/Y on a monitor with only VGA, DVI, and HDMI outlets.
Hi mixedinternal, welcome TSF.
As far as I know, there are no RCA to DVI cables. Best solution I can think of is to get an video capture card or some sort of converter box. Though the capture card may cause some lag. |
