Xbox360 Live Help

Ill start off with how I have everything set up and what I did to better help you all, help me.

I have my xbox360 Live wired up to my computer through an Ethernet cord. My computers internet is wireless due to the fact the router is in the basement. I just bridged the connection from the Lan and Wireless. Works fine.

I started a new account with Live since I have not had one in god knows how long. I entered all my information, even used the same email address as my original account. I checked the Connections through the xbox dashboard, they are all confirmed, Live is connected, and port is open.

When I went to go play Call of Duty is says I am connected but once I start to do anything it disconnects me. I exit out of the game and get back on, what do you know it works. But I get booted the second I do anything. The internet on my computer still works fine and nothing is wrong.

If anyone needs more information please ask, any help is greatly
appreciated.

Forgot to mention I have not tried a new wire yet, maybe its something as simple as that. I will report back when I try that.

Re: Xbox360 Live Help

The wire is not the problem I don't think. I tried setting up mine by sharing a wireless connection and using an ethernet adapter and when I loaded a game my connection was awful. I concluded that connecting to live through a wireless connection on your computer is just too slow.

Hmm thank you for the advice. The speed on my wireless is 108.0 Mbps it says with very good signal. Sorry if that is something stupid, I am not to good with all this.

Re: Xbox360 Live Help

aww man.... that sucks

sharing a wireless connection I would think wouldn't be very efficient

this one from newegg.com is $15 cheaper!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16874103016

damm I would try going wired and just buying a 100ft ethernet cable and snaking it through the house but thats annoying though. I had that setup for about 2 years before we got Bell Sympatico DSL and their beautifil 2wire 2701hg-g so the router is downstairs now.
I mean if you do the wiring right then you should have no problems with tripping over it. but I would take some measurements to make sure the wiring willl fit first if you do decide to go that way.........

Re: Xbox360 Live Help

The only efficient way to do it is to plug it directly into your router or modem. The wireless adapter works alright but still not great.

Re: Xbox360 Live Help

Since you're wired through an ICS(Internet connection sharing) then it could easily be your computer interfering. Make sure that your firewalls on your network settings are disabled for your Xbox 360 connection.

Re: Xbox360 Live Help

I was thinking about buying like a 100ft. But wow that would be a lot to fish through the walls. Would run slow from the length?

Thanks again everyone. Is there any other way to run off a computer?
