Xbox Live Problem (2 xboxes 1 router)

Me and my friend have just moved in and we have go a pc a wii and 2 xboxes with individual live accounts and gamer tags hooked up too our tp-link adapter which is connected to our virgin set top box. the problem is when my friend is on xbox live my xbox passes all tests apart from xbox live itself which is strange because my account is still valid. Please Help!

Your problem is using a set top box as your cable modem. I used to get problems with them too. Using an approved DSL Router will most likely solve this.
