PS3 wireless connection ridiculously slow
Hi, I hope someone can help with this problem.
The DL speeds I get using my PS3 wirlessly connected to my modem/router are just ridiculously slow - i mean dial up speed here - its not funny. Does anyone know if there is an existing issue with the PS3 WiFi card? Or do i just need to tweak some settings. I have opened all the ports that are needed for the PS3 on my router, still very slow speeds. I haven't tried connecting the Ethernet cable, but i really don't want to as the PS3 is in an awkward place to wire to from my router (it reports 100% signal strength when i check the wireless connection anyway) and really would need wireless at the end of the day. I have a linksys WAGN series router which works well for my Wii (wireless). DL speeds on my PC (wired connection) are fine also. Any ideas? - would very much appreciate any help here. thanks. |

Re: PS3 wireless connection ridiculously slow
its hard to deal with but wireless rite now is not always that great and when your on a console like that that uses that much internet your best bet is to wire it, if you know how or own a crimper you can make your own wires for much much cheaper. it also depends on what other ports wired or wireless you are using on your router. the more you use the more strain on your router but your router is a good one because its linksys, though i couldant find anything on your router so im going by name lol.
i only use my ps3 wired because thats the best possible connection and my internet isnt that great but my router is rite next to my ps3 so i get 100% or so and can play fairly fine but i only use wireless when my cuzin is over so we lag eachother out once and a while. and i have a netgear router. you also might want to check your uploads and downloads to make shure your getting all the internet your suppost to especially if they have a cap on your internet were you live or are thinking about it. not to mention if you have DSL or high speed like roadrunner. but good luck and hope you find a solution.
