Call of Duty 4 for Xbox 360

I've been playing COD 4 since it came out and now it seems the game freezes up. the disc is not dirty and my othe games seems to be working properly. Any Ideas?....Does constant playing wear these discs out?
I've checked the disc for scratches and or dust put it looks fine.

Have you tried deleting your game updates and then re-installing them?

To perform the function, access 'memory' in the system blade, and then highlight the hard drive. Now press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"

it's harmless besides the fact you have to re-install evry game update, it does not touch content downloads such as maps etc

has any other game frozen up recently? or is it just this game, if it is try the thing i suggested.

Good suggestion by Scythe, that is the only thing I thought of too was your game update. Also, what is the temp of your Xbox when this happens? That has also made games freeze for me before if the console is too hot.

Also do you have your xbox stood up or laid down? Lay it down, if it's stood up.

Give it more ventilation if it needs it too.

while playing COD4 has your console ever recieved a bump, there is that nasty little annoyaince where even though there arent any scratches on the disc if your console gets bumped good enough while playing any 360 game disc that it is rendered useless
