XBOX 360 DVD drive
I recently repaired a 360 from the RROD fault.
However the DVD drive now seems to only play music CD and not run any games. I did have a quick look and cleaned the drive and this made difference. I don't know the history of the drive so I can't say if the firmware has been changed. I was planning to swap the DVD drive out for another one and at the same make sure I use the original controller card due to the DVD key thingy Microsoft use on the 360. I also made a slight adjustment to the power level of the Lens using the 360 pot fix. After doing this, the system shows the following message when I insert a game. "to play this disc put it in an xbox 360 console" I can only assume this is to do with the adjustment to the Lens Could someone advise me what to do next, as I'm tempted to either 1. Use the 360 as a door stop and expensive media player 2. Buy another DVD drive The drive fitted is a Hitachi which I know had some issues. Thanks |

Re: XBOX 360 DVD drive
Did you have the problem of the 360 driver also not wanting to open at a point?
That you like pressed the eject button and on the screen it said opening and then closing after 2 seconds but nothing happened? |
