PS3 Online Help - How do you connect?

First of all sorry this is in the other thread too..didnt realize which criteria it goes into...and im desperate too but yeah please help me if you can, many thanks if you even read this.

Hi i just got my PS3 a couple of weeks ago and i tried to set up the wireless connection. It was bought from Dubai, dont know if that has anything at all to do with the problems.
When you initially try to set up the network it goes to the selection screen where u choose to set up with a wired or wireless connection...im using a wireless connection to my orange livebox. When it scans and goes to the signal strengths and all that it picks up my live box...then i enter the WEP key and all of that...then it asks if you want to enable proxy setttings and loads of other random things. i enable them all apart from that proxy thing.
At the end of all of this it tests your connection...and this is where it fails to pick up my IP address from my Livebox.
I dont understand why this is happening...can somebody help mee!!

i had a problem with the ps3 over heating so i took the ps3 out of the black case and the same4 thing happens soon as u start the ps3 it comes on the hd and u see it loading the home screen then a waindow comes up saying your ps3 has overheated and shuts down yellow light comes on beebs 3 times then flashes red light can any one help me please
