Re: PS3 won't find my network
Hi
If you are directly connected to an internet source it might be the cables or router your connected to' if you have not already found that out. But if your are using a wireless connection it could also be your nat type' which could be restricted. |

Re: PS3 won't find my network
First of all, it is impossible to troubleshoot your problem without knowing your "setup". There could be at least a dozen reasons why your ps3 is not seeing your network....
1. (obvious) Power set in "on" position for router, switches, access points, etc. 2. Make sure that you have the proper authentication if it is a secured wirless network you are attempting to connect to. 3. Make sure your SSID is being broadcast, or at least that you know the SSID so you can find it if it is hidden. 4. Check your router's mac filtering feature, if it has one, to see if it is enabled. If so, you will have to input the mac address of the ps3 into the router, or disable it to allow all mac addresses privileges. 5. Check your connections for hardwired. Not all ethernet cables are created equally, lol 6. make sure your adapter on the ps3 is enabled. It can be turned off. 7. check for any resident firewall programs on the network that may be extending themselves to your router, blocking the connection. 8. check your firmware in the ps3, make sure it is up to date. 9. is your network static, or dynamic? is it possible, your network is set up statically, and the router does not have any more addresses to give? 10. When you plug the ethernet cord into the network do any lights come on? port led's? traffic lights? 11. Are you connecting directly to a router, switch, cable modem? 12. Is it possible the ps3 is just f*#$@ up? so, see, there are many things that could be preventing you from connecting to your network. If you exhaust these options, and still do not know what the problem is, good luck to you. |
