Ps3 Hdmi Problem.

I have a NTSC ps3 and i want to us3 HDMI, I have a SAMSUNG 19'' SyncMaster 932MW PAL. Will this need different settings on the ps3?

Hi Alex, welcome to TSF. If your TV isn't HD ready and supports PAL only, then you will have trouble getting the PS3 to work with it. As you may now, NTSC and PAL have different resolutions.

Then technically is should work if you use the HDMI cable.

well i tried it before and the picture on my tv ent black but i had sound so i had to replace it.what did i do wrong?

Certain TV's need to be set to accept HDMI input. Have a look in the TV's menu to see if such an option is available. The PS3 display settings also need to be change (I think).

Try this: Turn on your Ps3. If you're greeted with a black screen, hold down the standby button for 5 seconds, and wait for the ps3 to go to standby mode (red power light). Then turn it back on the same way (hold the standby button for 5 seconds). You should get a picture on your TV then. It will probably say a HDMI device was detected.

Yep, that should be fine. I noticed in the Signal Output, it lists HDMI, which to me atleast means you'll have to set the TV to either accept this input or display it.

Personally, I have to go through my TV's menu and enable the HDMI input before it'll show up.

I have changed my tv to a MIKOMI lcdw19''hd tv and i think its ntsc compatible. will my ps3 work on this? It ss NTSC playback.
