2247nwg router problems

hello, when i 1st got my ps3 day of release in Ireland i set it up wirelessly on an 2247nwg netopia router, i opened all the ports required, and had nat type 2, after some time of everything being fine, im suddenly getting nat type 3 and there seems nothing i can about it and im getting a lot of lag playing games online. I've tried turning off the router firewall and i still get nat type 3, i know how to open ports on router, there is no dmz option, if i set up the ps3 using pppoe, then i get nat type 1 how ever then i cant access the media servers on my network and that is important to me..please help this lag is driving me nutz as its only happened last couple months..........i also changed to security settings on my router from wep to wpa psk. but i dont think that should affect it???????
