xbox 360 Extender Not found

I've recently brought a Xbox 360 and a new router linksys wrt160n
& I’m having problems connecting the pc (vista) to the Xbox.
I've tried several things, e.g. turning off the firewall, ensuring network discovery, sharing is turned on but to no avail.

In network neighbourhood I can see an Xbox icon and allowed sharing on it in wmp 11.

However when I try open media centre on the Xbox and receive the 8 digit key and enter this into the media centre in vista it says extender not found.

Testing the media connection on the Xbox presents a valid network adapter & ip address but failed to find pc.

I tried testing Xbox live and connected to internet successfully and even downloaded an update.

However I’ve exhausted all possibilities so any help would be appreciated.

I had similar probs with my console and XP. Long story short, I gave up and installed Orb.
