Xbox Hard Drive Problem!!!

I have 2 modded xbox's. (A and b) Xbox A is fine, But xbox b has error 13 since modding and removing the xbox dash files from c: to e: along with the newest version of XBMC, New it wont start at all. Tried the XBOX Hot swap. Tried the computer Hot Swap. Cant figure out how to burn the auto-installers or what ever they are, Im still learning what exactly those are and how to make them work. N E way i want to either:

A: Fix both hard drives without purchasing a Mod chip.
B: Get a new Bigger hard drive for Xbox A, and install A's original Hard drive into b.

I've already did some research on which hard drive will work and i have my eye on a few 500 Gig ones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated on hard drive sawpping without the mod chip.

Can I just plug and play a operational functional xbox hard drive into an alien system and it work correctly? If not what has to be done as far as flashing or sync'n or whatever, and how is it to be done?

Will Paypal for help on resolving the matter. Capable of reading and folowing instructions just need the directions.

Modded is illegal anyway. Microsoft do not approve.
