Need help picking a TV-gaming related
Hello. I just registered. I need to buy a new TV, but I'm running into a lot of problems picking one out. My current TV is a Sony Trinitron 30 inch SDTV. It's started dying, so I figured now is as good a time as any to replace it. I first tried buying an HDTV, but I play a LOT of older, last-gen games (PS2, Gamecube, etc.), and they looked really bad on the TV. Of course, I own next-gen consoles, and they looked nice, but the hit was just too bad for my older games so I returned the TV. What I really wanted now was to just find a larger SD TV, but I've ran into serious problems in that department. It seems few retailers even sell the things anymore, let alone at a large size (40 inches being my ideal).
I found this TV HERE which is nearly a copy of my current TV, except 6 inches bigger. I wouldn't be above buying it, but only if I can't find anything else. I've heard there are SD Plasma TVs, but I'm having trouble finding one, and I've seen some "EDTV" Plasmas as well. My question: Is it worth it to keep looking for an SD Plasma, will ED work just as well, or will I still see a drop in quality in last-gen games (the jaggies are really bad), and just go ahead and by the 36 inch Trinitron? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Need help picking a TV-gaming related
Depending on where you are you could always buy mine. I have upgraded to a 37" 1080p/i Sharp Aquos. My old one is a 40" Sony Rear Projection. PM me for further information.
