Need help picking a TV-gaming related

Hello. I just registered. I need to buy a new TV, but I'm running into a lot of problems picking one out. My current TV is a Sony Trinitron 30 inch SDTV. It's started dying, so I figured now is as good a time as any to replace it. I first tried buying an HDTV, but I play a LOT of older, last-gen games (PS2, Gamecube, etc.), and they looked really bad on the TV. Of course, I own next-gen consoles, and they looked nice, but the hit was just too bad for my older games so I returned the TV. What I really wanted now was to just find a larger SD TV, but I've ran into serious problems in that department. It seems few retailers even sell the things anymore, let alone at a large size (40 inches being my ideal).

I found this TV
HERE

which is nearly a copy of my current TV, except 6 inches bigger. I wouldn't be above buying it, but only if I can't find anything else. I've heard there are SD Plasma TVs, but I'm having trouble finding one, and I've seen some "EDTV" Plasmas as well. My question: Is it worth it to keep looking for an SD Plasma, will ED work just as well, or will I still see a drop in quality in last-gen games (the jaggies are really bad), and just go ahead and by the 36 inch Trinitron? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on where you are you could always buy mine. I have upgraded to a 37" 1080p/i Sharp Aquos. My old one is a 40" Sony Rear Projection. PM me for further information.
