Using wireless connection to the PS3?

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16833124136

I'm planning to use Wi-Fi and I'm just asking if this is good enough or is there any better suggestions? I won't take something so expensive, tho.

Re: Using wireless connection to the PS3?

Wired is MUCH better than even the fastest wireless connections.

Re: Using wireless connection to the PS3?

I guess the problem is that many people will connect their PS3 upstairs, and their computer downstairs, so it is impractical to connect them by wire.

The solution would be a stronger wireless signal, or to use the PC for wireless games, which is more established, even Call Of Duty 1 still has a lot of people online in the PC, oe even DOOM 1 has a few people.

The PS3 is the beginner in on-line gaming.

Re: Using wireless connection to the PS3?

Wireless is tricky, If your PC says your connected at 108mb/s to the network/router its more like 280kb/s it just means its theoretically possible to reach 108mb/s. I myself have got 2mb/s out of my connection from my wireless network. But i have spent $180 (AUS) on two High Gain Antenna's to achieve this.

Its also down to the router you select, cheap models wont cut it especially for gaming, Ive got a D-Link Gamers Lounge which set me back $230 (AUS) which gives me a network latency of 2ms between PC's and is able to support multiple ports open at once on multiple PC's.

So unless your willing to spend big money to get a wireless connection the 10th of the speed of a cable connection i would use a cable. (Im renting so cabling isn't possible)
