Re: Can XBOX 360 connect to laptop for XBox Live?

With your laptop connected wirelessly to your network access point, connect the wired network connection on your laptop to the wired connection port on the back of your Xbox 360 with any Ethernet cable.

Open the Network Connections list from Start > Connect To > Show All Connections

Right-click your Wireless Network Connection and choose Properties from the list.

On the Advanced tab, check the box to Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection. In the Home Networking Connection dropdown list choose Local Area Connection. Uncheck the box to Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection.

Re: Can XBOX 360 connect to laptop for XBox Live?

i apreciate the help.

i think its just home basic, tho it may be something else, i dont have the advanced tab. i have tried enabling the network sharing from somewhere else but im not sure. ive tried just about every combination possible as far as network settings go to get it to work. i was reading online and i think it isnt working because i need a special media function to share media with my 360. the sofware is only available on high level operating systms like vist ultimate and home premium. although its only for sharing music it seems that everywhere i read online you have to have that software(windows medai center i believe) enabled to get your 360 to connect.

sorry for the late response ive been away for some time

I think this is much easier to do with windows XP, but you have to bridge the network connections.
