Hey i am haveing a litle problem here...
I put some of my old Snes games (super nintendo) along with a emulator down on a cd to my ps2 and where useing swap magic boot cd to boot up the emulator... well my ps2 is a slim model and there was this litle bit of plastic (that i got with swap magic) that should push down the cd tray button inside the ps2... well it broke so i had to come up with another idea. i found a piece of metal (DOH!!!) and put it in to press and hold down the button and it worked at first ... but a couple of days later when i wanted to do my "trick" i acedently missed the button and the metal went down and hit something next to the button... a litle spark set of and the ps2 went down to standby state... now when i plug the ps2 to power the led lights red as normal but when i try to turn on the ps2 the led turns green for like 0,5-1 sec and the turns red again... anyone have any idea what it might be? perhaps someone have some blueprints of the ps2?? or perhaps should i take my ps2 and put it in the trashcan??

Re: My ps2 broke...
Hi, Welcome to TSF
You say it sparked? That's not good at all. Sparks usually mean you've shorted something, which in turn means to fix it you'd have to replace the whole circuit. All may not be lost however, if you can, take it down to your local electric show to have them take a look at it and see if they can fix it, if not, well then it's more then likely that all is lost. Sorry.
