Psp Firmware Help 3.40 Oe-a

My psp broke after i tried to put a zip file of mhf2 on it. Now, when I press x on the mem stick or the umd option, the loading circle at the bottom right appears and then disappears in a second. Does anyone know how i can fix it? The firmware is updated enough to play the game...Does anyone kno if this is some sort of virus or maybe 3.4 doesn't support zip files? if so, anyone know if downgrading will work? or any other ideas? thanks to those who take the time to reply to this.

Is this a 1xxx series or 2xxx series?

what do u mean by that? this psp is a older version, the first version before they changed some of the stuff. I got it about a week or so after it came out if that's what you mean. This is Dark Alex's custom firmware. I've looked for this problem on google but i can't find anybody who has this problem but me. Is it a virus or something?
