Gamecube Video Issues

I just got a new TV and I hooked up my Gamecube to it. There's a problem. Whenever I play a game on it it appears that there is a slight delay in sending and receiving the signal. My friend says it's probably because the TV is too new for the Gamecube. I don't know. Do any of you know what the problem or solution is? Thanks.

What generation of Gamecube is this and how is it connected? The first generation had two video connectors on the back: one similar to the SNES and N64 and the second was a wider one called Multi-AV.

Newer TVs don't do much differently except for the new 120Hz sets. What type of TV are you using?
