Xbox live test failure - help!
Ok im using a crossover cable into my pc and then a network bridge to link my 360 to the internet - that all works fine but when i do the xbox live connection tests it fails. it passes all the IP,DNS, IMCP and other tests but on the actual 'Xbox Live' test (the second last one before NAT) it fails and gives no explanation. Can someone help, whats going on with it?

Re: Xbox live test failure - help!
Consoles are fickle creatures when it comes to online gaming. The best thing I can recommend is to bypass the middle-man (crossovers/ bridges) and directly connect your 360 to the modem. I went through at least 3 routers before I found one that my Xbox could work with.

Re: Xbox live test failure - help!
Thanks for replying, i have since tried connecting it directly to the router and the same error occured. is it possuible that the servers are too busy to handle a new account at the moment? My friend has the same router as me so i know that the xbox is compatible with it?!

Re: Xbox live test failure - help!
Well, during the holidays Microsoft did admit that their servers were not up to snuff. Many people did experience disconnects and log in troubles. And by many people, I mean just about everyone I know lol.
I had the same type of problem as you. It was very frustrating and in my house we have 2 360's connected via wireless network that we had to hardline directly to my router (my badass Belkin router did not work at all!) Try what I mentioned in my first post and let me know. If you do that and still have probs it could very well be Xbox live. (Microsoft has even announced they plan on reimbursing Live subscribers with free Microsoft points and/ or Xbox live Arcade games for their blunders this holiday season!) |

Re: Xbox live test failure - help!
Good to hear! If you ever want to play some Halo 3 or Rock Band or something my gamertag is Harmishbar.
Also, let me know if you have any more problems. I'm no pro, but I have had my share of issues with Xbox Live and I might be able to help. |
