Sorry if this topic had been posted before, if I have enough moeny I will buy both of them, but ........ I can only get one of them, which one do you think should be better, I've read some other's comments on them:
http://www.slashgear.com/ps3-vs-xbox...own-045051.php Right now I am thinking of gettiing the ps3, and the lowest price I can find for it is 40GB $395.The lowest price I can find for the xbox360 is $400 at bestbuy, so am I right to get the ps3? Comments are welcomed.... |

Re: ps3 or xbox360
Personal choice really.
Ive always liked all the playstation consoles. Playstation tends to have some of the better games but then Xbox has its own, like Halo. If your looking for the console that has the best graphics its hard to tell at this stage. As both consoles are fairly new they haven't reached their full potential. Both have good online play but Playstations online play is free. Apart from some games like Final Fantasy. PS3 is able to support upto 7 controllers so sports games would be good. Xbox has more PC support but Sony is working on that for the next few firmware updates. So all in all i like the PS3 and i would get one (i have one by the way) but its your choice.

Re: ps3 or xbox360
The downside to getting the 40GB version is that it WON'T play older games. I've yet to find a game that my 360 won't run.

Re: ps3 or xbox360
Ive got the 40bg PS3 and it runs all the games from PS1 to PS3. I would be worried if it didnt play PS3 games.
The 40gb version does not have, 2x PS1/2 memory slots, SD card reader and Wifi. (Its all on the 60gb version) However you can create a virtual PS1/2 memory card on the PS3. They have also added a new feature to both versions of the PS3, so that if you have a PSP and are able to use remote play you can play PS1 games on the PSP via the PS3. Which is cool but they is about 0.3sec delay between button pressing and the games response, its due because its a new feature

Re: ps3 or xbox360
If you're buying for now then buy the 360. If you're buying for the future then get a PS3. The games for PS3 are getting better and better already. Next year at this time that will be all she wrote for the 360 as far as competition goes. I have both consoles and I haven't played my 360 since buying an 80GB a year ago. 360 has the slight edge as far as online gaming but PS3 is catching up to that as well.

Re: ps3 or xbox360
For me, it was a clear choice, PS3 because when you compare what you're getting for your money, it's clear the PS3 has more to offer. (and maybe cause I'm biased
) It's more an entertainment system then just a gaming console.

Re: ps3 or xbox360
I've never seen it as being worth it for a PS3... That may be because I dislike their style of games, or that I don't game enough to warrant spending $500 on a system... 360 is the cheapest real console, Wii is too kid focused... You can get a 360 for around $280 now (no HD) $350 for the 20GB version. For an entertainment system, you could just get a DVD player... Blu-Ray/HD-DVD is completely unnecessary unless your screen is over 50"... Plain old DVDs look just fine at 106" even :) No need for youtube on the 50" either...

Re: ps3 or xbox360
I think it's clear that this is purely a personal choice.
It's not so easy to choose between the ps3 and the xbox360 cuz both of the produce really nice graphics especially when using a HDMI cable on a HD-TV... I have the ps3 60Gb version and it runs really smooth. Online gaming is free and the graphics are really awesome. It's mainly a personal choice for upcoming titles like Gran Turismo!! Also the new features like the possibility to play divx is certainly a plus-point for the ps3!! |

Re: ps3 or xbox360
PS3 is technically a better choice as it comes with more power, and all the extras included, the only negetive side is that it cannot be chipped or modded. So if you are looking to play just one or two online games then go for PS3 as online gaming is free on ps3 also as well as wireless card inculded the charger for wireless controller is included etc.
xbox will need a new model to come out o compare with PS3 also PS3 got Blueray which will allow you to view HD movies. |
