PS3 Issue - Will not start

Hello all,

First time poster, so I apologise if this issue has already been brought up.

So, I was playing a game on my new PS3 console. I paused the game in the in-game menu for approximately 5 minutes. Upon returning to and resuming the game, I noticed that the screen had frozen, however the audio was still working. None of the functions on the Sixaxis Wireless Controller had any affect, so I held the power button down for 10 seconds and shut the system down.

When I re-booted the system, it appeared to be starting up as normal, until it paused for a second, then displayed the error message: "Cannot start. The correct hard disk cannot be found." I have tried this process several times since - to no avail - and I am just wondering whether anyone else had a similar problem, and can give me any pointers on how to resolve this issue.

Hi

I'm afraid the news is bad. That problem is more often then not associated with harddrive failure.

Try doing a reformat and should that fail, take it back to the store. It'll have to get replaced.

Might also consider calling Sony up to see what they say. This is a known problem on a limited number of the consoles.
