wireless networking a 360

Hello all,
I am trying to get my xbox 360 to go wireless. I just got a new console after the other one died for the third time. Since i got the refurbished one I cannot get the wireless to work anymore.
I am using a linksys wrt55ag router with an HP pavillion running windows XP. I originally had the Geek Squad from Best Buy set it up (yes I am that pathetically inept) but they dont come back out for free and I dont want to spend another $100 to set the thing up. I am a completly computer illiterate so I will probably need to be walked through the process step by step. Thanks in advance to anyone with the patience to try and help.

Re: wireless networking a 360

Could you elaborate? Are you trying to get the xbox to connect to the internet through that router or are you trying to use the router to connect to a wifi network?

How was it set up before? Are u using the xbox wireless adapter? Im not sure of your problem, is it the wireless adapter is not picking up the router or have i missed the point. In anycase, are you connected to the internet wirelessly or are you wired to a router? There is several ways to connect the xbox to the internet. 1st is to connect directly to the router but since you want wireless im guessing its not an option. 2nd (this is what i do) if your xbox is near your pc, connect it via a crossover cable to the back of your pc, go into network connections, select the xbox and wireless internet connection and perform a network bridge. This will enable the wireless internet on your computer to be shared with the 360.

If you could elaborate as mentioned above on your current set up/previous set up and what you want to do we can be more help.
