PSP can't read disk after freeze up

My son purchased a PSP two weeks ago - it was working great until last night. It froze up in the middle of a game of Hot Shots Golf. He has been playing the 300 movie game and MLB. Now it won't read any disks. When he tried to reboot it only shows the wavy lines on the blue background and does nothing. He is in the Navy and bought this for entertainment while at sea. Shipping out in two weeks - can you help or does he ned to return this to store. Is this a recurring problem? He will have limited internet access on ship and won't be able to ask for help if this occurs again.

Re: PSP can't read disk after freeze up

Probably something with the laser. I'd suggest trying to exchange it while still under warranty.
