XBox 360 freezing?

For the first time ever, my XBox froze right in the middle of a game. It makes a quick noise, then freezes all of a sudden. I felt the back of the XBox and it was kicking out a LOT of heat. So I stuck a fan on it, and it hellped a bit but would still freeze after a while. Now, it's feezing even with the fan on it only after a few minutes. Also sometime when I try to turn on the 360 right after it's bad freezing habbit, it lights up red all around the power button and wont give me ANY visuals. Anyone know what could be wrong? I really need some help because I just baught a new game today.

id check the inside of it for dust buildup.a good buildup can keep the heat from being disapated properly.

So the heat could be exactly whats causing this? But if thats the case then why do all the rings light up and flash right after it freezes and I try to turn it on real quick? Ahh this sucks.

Hmmm it's rings 1,3, and 4. General Hardware Failure. I tried restarting the console, and it goes away then freezes the 360 again later.

I wonder if it's the power supply.

"Also examine the lights on the power supply. When you turn on the console, the power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the RoL flash red."

Nothing flashes at all when I turn it on. I'm gunna give Microsoft support a call.
