ps2 on 17" TFT

Hi originally I bought the xploder HD TV player and xploder vga cable hoping I could use the VGA modes with my TFT but I cant get a picture. The monitor i am currently using is a BTC 171M (17" TFT)

I have read various threads which all suggest to use a vga box, I am aware of those and dont want to bother with them at this point. I noticed this :

http://www.cyberselect.co.uk/product/1120

with my xploder HD TV set i recieved a ps2 component cable if i connected this component cable to the female end of the above adaptor then connected the vga end to my monitor would this allow me to use my ps2 with my monitor to output 480p component?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Re: ps2 on 17" TFT

Short answer: Yes. The problem is that not all PS2 games are 480p compatible.

Here is a good list of what is and what isn't.

Re: ps2 on 17" TFT

I was tempted to buy the adaptor I originally showed you via the link:

http://www.cyberselect.co.uk/product/1120

but Ive just realised they have a ridiculous minimum order value ahhhhg
so i did some more research would something like this work:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SVGA-to-5-BNC-...QQcmdZViewItem

a vga to 5 BNC. Would this work if i connected the vga end to my monitor, my ps2 component lead ends (RGB) to the (RGB) female ends of this cable.
But obviously i would need to change on the ps2 system options RGB to the component setting.

I am sorry to be a pain but theres nothing worse than buying a cable to find it doesnt work.

Thanks in advance
