wii shutdown

Is it ok to leave the wii plugged in after turning the system off? The console still remains slightly warm because it is in low power status. Will it effect the long term lifespan of the unit?

It is perfectly safe to leave a console plugged in, BUT if it isn't connected to a surge protector or other device, the console may become damaged during a power surge (ie. thunderstorm). Thats the only thing i would be concerned about. Although make sure though that if you go on a long trip or vacation, unplug all electrical devices.

I allways use surge protectors with all my electronics. What is a vacation anyway? I don't think that one is part of my lifestyle. (can't afford them) Thanks for the info.

I leave my consoles plugged in all the time and so far it's had no adverse effect. Facade was right on the money with the tip on using a surge protector.
