Ps2 repair help

ok, i was opening up my ps2 slimline to tape down the switch that tells wether its open or not. And on the reset switch the white button broke off. so, me being very stupid, took a peice of metal thinking it would fix it, and put it against the place where the on switch was. the red LED light went out and it wont turn back on. do i have to get a new ps2?????

i think it will still play games just the reset switch wont do anything i think i shorted it out

so turn the power off and on, I don't think it's worth a new machine.

i bought a new switch but nothing happened the light didn't turn on. any recommendations?
