I have a problem with my slim ps2, please help!

Ok ive had this slim ps2 for one year, and its developed a problem while playing games, ill be playing any game and then the ps2 starts making a funny noise and the in game music turns off or the game freezes, so to temporarily fix the problem i open the tray and shut it and it starts playing fine, but then it does it again five minutes later. Finally i turned diagnosis on, and it helped much better but the problem still arises every 10 minutes, now i bought God of War yesterday, and played it last night with diagnosis on (it wouldnt even read it without it) then turned on my ps2 again today to play agian after loading my saved game it just gets stuck on the loading screen and stays there, the disc is spinning and everthing, but it doesnt get past the loading screen ive tried cleaning my lens, ive tried diagnosis, ive searched the net but i cant find any solutions to this... please help it would be much appreciated

How long has your system been on before playing the games and recieving the problems. Since the new ps2s are small they overheat easier. If you play anything for a long time on the playstation 2 then you could get some problems like this. If you have kept your system on for a long time playing the games. Then I recommend you to keep the system off for a good while before playing it again. It is not a good idea to play with it all day then sleep wake up and repeat. It has to have time to cool down.

Well I would say get support from PlayStation. They will be able to help you with any and all of your problems with your system. You should have a warranty with it. That is if you bought it new anyway. If not just wait for someone else to leave a reply that knows more than me. I have not had the playstation 2 slim for that long. The only thing I would say is just give it a rest for a few days. I have had the same type of problems with my dvd players. After awhile they just stop working. I usally leave my dvd player sitting for at least a week and then the next week I pop a dvd in and it is working fine again. If you want to clean it you can get a dvd cleaner with a brush system. I have one and it says you should use it ever so many hours of game play. Well to keep it clean you should. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...+cleaning+disk just go to these google search results and get one of the following. This has helped me keep my system clean and running good. I use the cleaning disk every time I am finished playing games. Which brings me to the question do you unplug your system from the power cord or do you just hold reset in and leave the red light on. If so then you have not fully shut the thing off. Leaving it on with the red light on will cause it to overheat greatly. And if you had this for a year with you shutting it off like this then I can safely say that is probally your problem.
