Interesting (slim) PS2 problem

So, i went out and bought myself a slim PS2 the other day, popped in Splinter Cell Chaos theory (which i had just gotten free with the PS2) and after mabey an hour or two, it froze. I didn't think to much of it, I just popped in a different game (BF2). It lasted about as long as splinter cell did. the even scarier part is that when i put splinter cell back in, i had problems even getting to a level, because it tends to freeze on the loading screens. This makes no sense, new disc, new ps2. My laser cleaning disc is at a friends, so ii haven't tried that yet. can anyone help me please?

Are you sure the ps2 is new. Because it looks like you got a free disk because the ps2 is second hand. But if it is new you should call Playstation and have them deal with it. That is the best thing to do.

I'm inclined to believe will on this one. My slim PS2 was lightly used when I bought it but works great even when used for extremely long gaming sessions (6+ hours straight!!).

I don't think it was used, it came in original box, still wrapped, and came with all acessories and discs. Game was also new. I think i'll just try and see if my laser disc clears things up.

Question: Is the warranty seal still intact? If its not...then it's not a new one.
