OS: Mac OS 10.5.8

Idea Internet Applications Not Responding

Hi!!! I have a White MacBook 13" with Mac OS 10.5.8. It turns to be very slow at starting up and the programs that have anything to do with the Internet are not responding. For example: Safari, Firefox, Messenger, also if I try to run the online help on MS Office 2011. But if I do it using the parallels partition running Win XP, I could use the internet. I run some Mac antivirus and anti spyware tools and nothing found, nor fixed. What could it be??? What can I do???

Re: Internet Applications Not Responding

Do you have the OS X firewall turned on? Look in the system preference that looks like a combination lock.
