when i load the window xp pro , the windows logo loaded and it took me to the users page where I pressed my user's ID, I briefly saw my icons page load and then.... the dreadful blue screen appeared (I've never seen this before) this is the message it displayed:


A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER.

IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU HAVE SEEN THIS ERROR SCREEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER (I DID THIS AND IT CAME BACK TO THE BLUE SCREEN).

THEN IT SAID:

the window logon process system process terminated terminated with a status of 0x0000080 (oxooo oxooooo)

the system has shut down

I have no idea what all of that means... Can some one please help understand and at this point what are my options? Am I able to fix this problem?? I can not get to windows page.... plz help am on line right now

u have to remember i only have have business desktops operating system cd ----- microsoft windows xp pro sp1a

mine computer froze on me when i was installing window xp professional on a window 98 dell optiplex gn+.

You have posts all over the place, which makes it almost impossible to help you. You have to keep all your posts related installing XP - can't recover to 98 in one thread/topic.

Bottom line, you can't use an HP XP Pro disk on a Dell. It will not work and as is illegal. And as you see now, it looks like you have messed the old operating system.

hmmm.... have you installed any new hardware recently, this could be the most common factor to Blue screens of death (BSOD'S)
