Hi,
I have Office 2010 on Windows 8.
MS Project has worked fine for me, until when the error appeared when trying to open mpp format file: "Cannot open file." Is there something I can do myself to recover mpp file?

OS: Windows10. In the past CP/M, DOS, Windows 95, 2000, 98SE, ME, Vista & Windows 7

If it's the only file that won't open, it's probably corrupted. If none open, reinstall MS Project.

I did the following things to try to fix it, but none of them works.

- Re-installed Office.
- Tried to open the file fom another computer

Was the file created in a different version of Office?

The first thing I suggest is, go to the Windows Control Panel and select Programs > Programs and features. Select Project and hit the "Change" button. In the window that appears, select "Repair".

Hope this helps.
