[SOLVED] Excel 2010 IF blank, leave blank. IF not, return result

I have searched for existing examples, but everything I find is more involved than what I need.

=IF(D1="","")(D1=C1,"Y","N")

If D1 is blank, leave cell blank
If D1 = C1, return a "Y"
If D1 does not = C1, return a "N"

I think it is not an "IF" formula I need, but I cannot figure out what I need.

Thank you for your help!
