I have several documents that I use for process improvement. One is a case summary in Word that pulls data from excel. The others are quality assurance templates that also pulls data from Excel.
I currently print a case summary on all of my patients and then print the QA templates as necessary to review the individual issues with each case. The case summaries are quick to print since there is one on everyone. The QA templates are a bit trickier though. I have to open each document and filter the results based on what template it is and then print them. Afterwards I have to match up the case summaries with the templates and staple them.
I did find that I could use some IF statements to insert my templates into my case summary when certain criteria were met. All looked beautiful until I realized that the data in the template wasn't matching up with the data in the case summary. I guess every time that the template was inserted it displayed the values from the first patient in that document that met the criteria.
So , I guess my questions are this...
1) Is there a way to make the mail merges in both documents pull from the same record at the same time?
2) Does anyone have any better ideas for conditionally inserting text that includes merge fields and tables into a document?
