I delete my temp internet files frequently. Both online and offline content. Recenly, after running my spyware protection problem, I noticed that even though my temp internet files were supposedly deleted my spyware protection program was scanning hundreds upon hundreds of them. I then ran a virus scan and it did the same thing. I've looked everywhere for them and can't find them anywhere. The only temporary internet file location I found was completely empty. Where else should I be looking?
This is a GREAT little utility to clean out all those temp files/folders:
The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes.
When you get into the Temporary internet files folder... setup the folder so that you can see all hidden and system folders. Often times you will see more files there. Also make sure when you delete them that you have IE closed or it will not be able to delete some of them as they are in use in that browser.
CTSNKY...If you're ever in Detroit. Let me know. I owe you a beer! That worked brilliantly.
You've been a big help since I've been on this site. Thanks a ton!
