Please load the following in your IE9:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<HTML>
<BODY style="background-color: black">
</BODY>
</HTML>

Can you see a 2 pixel thick white line at the bottom?
In IE8 it wasn't there!
Is this something in my settings?

I've forgot to mention: go full screen (F11) and hide the status bar to see the white line at the bottom of a black screen.

I could not find a way of editing my post...

Hello and welcome.

Does this happen on all sites or just one?

Hello,

This happens on every site or document I open. I wrote this minimal HTML file:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<HTML>
<BODY style="background-color: black">
</BODY>
</HTML>

And it also shows the white line.

Click Start => Control Panel => Programs => View installed updates => Wait for the list to load and go down to find Windows Internet Explore 9 click on it then click Uninstall => Click Ok to Allow.

Once down restart the computer.

IE should be back at IE8, does the same thing happen?

I have followed your instructions. IE8 does not show the white line.

I want to use IE9 because I am upgrading my pages with some features of HTML5.

I also checked in several computers with Windows 7 at my workplace. Some users have updated to IE9, others not. Without any exception, IE9 shows the line, IE8 does not.

Download a new version of ie9 install and see if the problem comesback. Is it just your website that has this issue?
