I'm running Windows XP, Service Pack 3, 2002 version, Internet Explorer 8. Whenever I try and run Internet Explorer, it says that it can't display the page, for whatever reason, suggesting I diagnose connection problems. I've uninstalled all the toolbars I can find, but that doesn't help a bit. Yet I can properly browse the internet perfectly fine with Firefox 3.5.
It's worth noting two things: I recently had a virus infect the computer, posing as antispyware, which I had to wrestle with for an entire morning before Spybot S&D got rid of it. The second is that the MSHTML.DLL (when i use the command regsvr32 mshtml.dll in the Run window) "loads, but the DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file can not be registered."
Is there anything I can do about this? Any more information you might need?
