[SOLVED] IE 11 Stopped working

Hi,

I have Windows 8.1 with update KB2919355 installed.

Everything had been going well but then all of a sudden Internet Explorer 11 from the desktop suddenly said "Internet Explorer has stopped working" options to choose to search for solution online or close the program.

I chose search online but it came back and just shut it down.

To re-cap EVERY TIME I try to load IE 11 from the desktop it shows a blank white box in a blue border then the message above.

Note: This only happens when I try to run IE 11 from the desktop version. The apps IE 11 from the start menu works fine.

As I like using the desktop version of IE 11 I would very much like to resolve this issue any help would be appreciated.

What I have done so far:-

1) Rebooted system (no good)

2) Selected Internet option from the control panel-Advance-Reset Internet Explorer Settings-Reset. (No Good)

3) Searched for Windows features-Turn window features on/off -deselected Internet explorer 11-ok then restarted system.

4) Went through the procedure under item 3 but this time selecting to turn on Internet Explorer 11-ok-restarted. (no good)

5) Finally I thought that with the latest major update was update KB2919355 which included an update for IE11.

So I went through control panel-program & features and uninstall updates and selected to uninstall KB 2919355. This it did.

I then went through windows update which showed update KB 2919355 was available which I selected and downloaded and installed (hoping to kick start IE11).

I now have update KB 29193555 re-installed ok but I still CAN NOT open IE11.

I can't think of anything else I can do and appreciate your help. Ideally I would like to uninstall it and reinstall it from scratch but I notice from microsoft website that in Windows 8.1 you can not uninstall IE 11 only turn it on or off (which doesn't)

Kind Regards
