flash player problems
Hi guys, just joined your forum..
Totally frustrated, running Windows 7. I/E 8 and for the past three weeks my flash player is not recognised on any siet that needs it.
I have uninstalled using the tool, restarted, downloaded again, turned of AVG, unistalled , reinstalled, can.t use the adobe manager to delete flash cookies because it does not detect it, so can't change anything.
Checked activex is enabled, currently installed adobe flash version 10. adobe shockwave player 11.5. adobe reader 9.4, and adobe air.
On adobe check site shockwave working but flash not. So many people with this problem don't know what else to try..

Re: flash player problems
Hello and welcome to the forum.
Go Here to find what version of Java you are running, and please post back the results.

Re: flash player problems
Do you have these problems in any other browsers? Please try one of the below (both are free):
Firefox
Opera

No worries.
Do you want to try and solve the IE problem or not?

I think it could be a problem with Java.
Please download JavaRa and save the file to your desktop. - Right click and Extract All and a new folder called "JavaRa" will be extracted
- Once extracted, open that folder and run JavaRa.exe with the picture.
- Select your Language which is English I assume.
- Click Search For Updates
- Select Update Using jucheck.exe
- Click Search
- If a newer version is found, allow it to be installed
- Uncheck the Google Toolbar option. (if you don't want the Google tool bar)
- When complete, click Remove Older Versions in the JavaRa interface and allow it to proceed
- When that is complete, click Additional Tasks, then select Remove Useless JRE Files and click Go
- It will now begin to remove older versions.
- Exit the tool when complete.
Reboot Your Computer Now.

- All went to plan, but at update it said that I had the latest version so I could go no further. I tred 'remove older versions', but that was as far as I could go.
- So I tried to 'uninstall' from add/remove and half way through 'internal error 2753' came up and it would not uninstall.
- It stil works fine in Opera but still not in I/explorer

- Thanks Mick

Re: flash player problems
It is strange please do this:
Enable Java in Internet Explore
- Please open up Internet Explore
- Click Tools, then on Internet Options
- Click on the tab Advanced
- Scroll down too Java (Sun)
- Check the box for JRE 1.6*_** (The ** will change depending on the version of Java)
- Next, please click the tab Security
- Click the "Custom Level" button
- Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets"
- Make sure "Enable" radio button is checked.
- Click OK to save your preference.
Flash Fix (.osx)- Click Start, Click on Run
- Type into run:
- C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
- Click Ok
- Copy the Flash10I.ocx file and then paste it back in the same directory.
- This effectively will give you two files; Flash.ocx and Flash10I.ocx, both the same file; although with a different name, in the same directory.
If that doesn't work try this:
- Click Start, click Run
- Type this into run (or copy and paste)
- C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash,
- Double click on FlashUtil10I.exe
- Follow the prompts and then restart your computer.

Re: flash player problems
Hi again, Hit a couple of snags..
1. There is no Java whatsoever in internet settings advance.
Under security, scripting checked ok.
2 Copied and pasted link into 'run' and windows only shows flashUtil101_Activex.dll.
This gives me something I don't know about so I won't touch it.
Regards Mick

Hi again....sorry did all the instructions in the thread, really straightforward.
Clicked on tools and advanced yet still no java of any kind showing. I note the last thread kept refering to vista, I am on windows 7 , I am sure you know this, also two icons have appearedon my desktop now, both the same called desktop.ini. What are they?

Re: flash player problems
Hello Mike,
Thanks again for staying with me on this. There have been heaps of issues lately with flash and I am trying to work out the problem.
When you showed the hidden files could you see more files located here?

The Desktop.ini files are harmless. They are files that are used to customize folders. Here is an example of what they can do::
Customizing Folders with Desktop.ini (Windows)
I know your using 7, but the steps are pretty much the same .
Kind regards,
GTP

Hello again.... Guess what I found out what was preventing flash from working..
I have spywareblaster on my system, and in thetools there is I noted a flash killer section, on opening there is a tick box to say disable and block mac/flash player.
I unticked the box and IT WORKED
Thanks for all of your effort, it really is appreciated and maybe someone else might use this thread to help...
Do I need to undo anything that I have changed?
Thanks again Mick

Re: flash player problems
Thanks for posting that.
I was just about to get into security apps
Only thing I would recommend undoing is the Show hidden files and folders. Just to get hide the system things that dont need to be seen.
Thanks for posting you fix.
