Here is my problem. Just this passed Saturday I downloaded a program called Gamevance.exe to become a gold member on a Pokemon RPG. The RPG is safe. Anyways a link to the download was provided on the website, PokemonToxic.net. It was only after the program was downloaded that really bad things started happening. Not sure if the file was correctly named/spelled through my knowledge, but it is Gamevance. :4-dontkno After the program downloaded, it was bundled with a desktop weather tracker, which may have been a huge mistake on my part. Avira then told me Gamevance was adware, so I tried removing it, and it worked. But now my wireless mouse is really laggy with movement, on nearly every window. Ultimately, I cannot run or download DDS or GMER. I had to use my sisters computer to even get on the forums. Any help/ideas are very appreciated. :sigh:

Early bump, please. My computer is going to be rendered incapacitated soon if I don't receive help today. I think this gets done quicker if this gets done by today, with help from an expert analyst. Pick one of these to help me: Chemist, Ried, Tetonbob, or Basementgeek. I have a funny feeling that any other expert analyst will have trouble with this. Without any normal way to download your tools, this post deserves an early bump. Counting on you guys to help me out.

Chemist, we have a problem with one of the DDS logs. Last night I had to go to bed because it was past 11:00 PM, but I kept both windows open. My dad accidently closed one of the logs because of his work at home, and its very important to him. I do have DDS Notepad, but is there any way I can restore the other window?

See if you can run the tools in Safe Mode:
  • Restart your computer.
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, start pressing the F8 key.
  • In some systems, this may be the F5 key.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
  • Use the up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode and press 'Enter'.
  • Login on your usual account.
------------------------------------------------------

Save the logs to a USB drive and transfer them to another computer and post/attach the logs as instructed.

If your hard drive won't fire up, there isn't really anything else I can do for you.

There is a method for recovering data that you can't live without from a hard drive that won't boot, although I'm not 100% sure it will work for your hard drive. You remove the hard drive and slave it to the master hard drive on another computer. If you need help with this procedure, I suggest you seek expert help in our Hardware Support Forum

You''re welcome! Sorry it turned out this way. Did you read my last post?

Also, how do you know your data was wiped out? And that was only the fake AV saying all your files are infected. They are not infected. It's a ruse.
