Have a specific problem. Had a heavily infected computer. Bought AVG..no help. Finally with a help of an excellent technician on a site...ran Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, ComboFix....(after removing AVG). After much correction, got clean runs. While AVG was removed, pulsing vanished...everything ran well without interference....Bought a copy of BitDefender...the minute I started the BD install/registration process the pulsing started again. Ran MWB, Kaspersky, and BD (finally got it installed and definitions updated)...clean runs....However, everytime I try to dial-up or play a game (Quake III which has never had a problem before)..the pulsing starts again and can last up to several minutes..requires many dial-up attempts before getting a good connection...pulsing restarts with a program call up...sometimes one can outlast the pulsing by waiting..but often restarts with mouse movement or program call up.
Anyone have any ideas?:4-dontkno
