Rapid Start Technology - occasionally resets to BIOS

I have Intel Rapid Technology set up on a ASRock Fatal1ty H97 Performance LGA 1150 Motherboard with Windows 7.

Around 70% of the time it works as it should - turning the PC off physically turns it off - and upon booting the computer up it comes out of a hibernation type, booting the PC in seconds. As it is a media player PC, I turn it on with the 'on' function on a USB remote.

Around 30% of the time the on button on the remote does not work and I need to press the on button on the case. The PC then boots into the BIOS (without prompt). If I hit the reset button the computer boots normally.

This is strange. I use the PC as a media centre. I turn it on and off with an RC6 media centre remote.

After roughly half an hour after being switched off (in RST mode) it still switches on via the media centre remote.

If I leave it overnight it doesn't, I have to switch it on manually, via the case.

Any ideas?
