I like to use my computer as an entertainment center (which just means late night Netflix/Toonami streaming). I have my computer go to sleep after 3 hours of inactivity so my TV can turn off which makes sure nothing has been on ALL night. But, this only works sometimes. My computer is sometimes unresponsive when I try to take it out of sleep. When I try to wake it, the computer starts up but doesn't display anything. I have tried unplugging the HDMI but that causes the computer to blue screen. I know that my GPU is the reason why I can't use the "ultra-fast" startup option but that can be easily fixed (I am just to lazy/busy to email Nvidia). I have noticed this waking problem can be triggered by initially waking my computer then letting it go back to sleep and when I press the "pc power" button on my Logitech wireless keyboard(which puts my computer to sleep and not off/on) but I have no idea as to what that means. Any help? Thanks in advance.
Have you looked in the bios to be certain that usb mouse and keyboard (or Ps2 if you use them instead for mouse and keyboard) are enable pc from to wake from sleep?
I also forgot to say that when it becomes unresponsive I am forced to force shut down and then restart. Then I restart it again after I turn it on due to Windows prompting me that there might be disk errors to fix.
See if you get the same result if you close out of IE and Steam before leaving it to sleep.
