I bit the bullet and upgraded my Asus Zenbook from 8.1 to 10 last night. It warned me that Mediacenter would be gone and I agreed since I don't really need it on this notebook. Upgrade went very smooth.
I have another Win 7 laptop that I would like to upgrade to Win 10 but I use that one to stream recorded TV that I make on my HTPC (Win 7 desktop with TV tuner card that I won't upgrade to Win 10) so I would need a way to play those mediacenter recordings. Is there an alternative to mediacenter that I can install on the laptop with Windows 10 to play the mediacenter recorded TV files?
