Good idea, give credit to both...

Almost done with Part 1. Sony Vegas is giving me some problems. Hopefully I can figure it out within the next couple of days.

Part 1 of?

Just wondering, is this Channel for Tech Support only or would stuff like Gaming Videos (such as "Lets Play ... [e.g. Minecraft]") be welcome if within the scope of TSF Rules.

Also, we could do some Gaming videos to the tune of Articles with footage?

What do you guys think?

Primarily, we have been focused on Software but I would like to expand the scope of the channel.

Hardware is also something to explore, perhaps someone who has access should go in the Hardware Staff Room and bug them about recording them building a PC or something to that effect.

Another thing would be to do overviews of each OS, perhaps people from the Windows, Apple and Linux teams could get involved.

Just trying to push this through since we seem to be progressing slowly atm.

Oh sorry part one of my Kinect for Windows PC games tutorial. You are right Redeye, we should have let's plays and things like that, but maybe on a channel called TSF Gaming?

Personally, I think it's okay. We already offer game reviews in the article section, and while much of this forum is professional tech orientated, it would be unwise to ignore the huge gaming area.

If the gaming videos grow and become regular, then another channel would be appropriate. At the moment it's probably better to stick with one channel to get it off the ground.

You need some more videos up, the majority of videos will probably come from people who are directly involved in the project. Speaking of which, are there any of GreenLightPCs videos you can add to the channel?

Yeah I agree with you someguy about holding off on a second channel until this one becomes popular.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

Just an update for you all:

Thanks to extreme procrastination in relation to an exam I have tomorrow, I have just created a new video which I have intended to be put onto both channels.

It is currently in the first stages of processing. It should be ready for upload Tomorrow or Friday.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

Hey GreenLight,

Sounds good to me. We welcome your involvement in this project and I hope the pilot video goes well.

I have an idea about doing a video to supplement the article that I will be producing with Will.

Do you guys think that doing a video to supplement an Article is wise or should it be what we have come up with so far - doing an Article to supplement the video?

I see no problems with a video to supplement an article.

That should be fine Redeye. Thanks Greenlight for your involvement. The first part of my video is done, I just need to cap off the beginning and end with the titles, and I will publish it as private for your guys's review, soon.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

Finally finished part one of my Kinect tutorial. It is currently unlisted, so you can only see it through this link. Tell me what you think, and if its good, I will set the video to public.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

An update on my new video:

I had an issue with the video I made a couple of days ago and therefore had to make a new video just, I am currently in the first encoding stages.

My plan at the moment is to add the Techsupportforum outro onto the video I upload to my channel onto the video so that a techsupportforum channel admin can just download my video and reupload it to the TSF channel without needing editing.

I have specifically mention the techsupportforum channel in my video to raise awareness and to tell my subscribers of our partnership.

The video will be online by tonight.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

Here it is:

I only did a registry editing video because I wanted to produce a quick video (considering my last one failed). When I get more time I will produce some videos which I have had planned for a while - but require more thought.

Links to TSF and the TSF channel are in the video description, there is also a TSF mention at the end of the video.

That's fine. Thanks Greenlight. For future reference, and this applies to all contributors, could you please speak more slowly. I had to listen a couple of times before I could make out what you were saying.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

Just my 2¢ is all.

You use the word "I believe" at about 1:34, bad word to use, sort about the same as "my guess"

No reference how to back up registry first

TSF is more geared towards the average user, this is more of advanced user
video.

Many, many people need these pop up ballons, IMO, to help them from getting into trouble without necessary updates.

Re: TSF Youtube Channel Discussion Thread

I agree, but I don't think we should totally exclude more advanced content. The best solution for me is to add a disclaimer and instructions for backing up the registry to the video in the description, and on the post at TSF.

@Carpetfizz, don't set your video to public just yet. I've asked some of the games team to review it.
