Homegroup showed up on my desk top and I can't remove it. I tried putting it in the recycle bin and in an icons folder but it won't go. I did not put it there (at least not knowingly) I had trouble printing and finally figured out how to print with my Windows 8 so it could have something to do with that??
I looked it up and it has something to do with networking, which I don't do. Can I get it off my desk top?
I played with the Homegroup some more and managed to "leave it" so now it is gone! Still don't understand how it got on my desk top or exactly what it is. But I'm glad I was able to get rid of it.
If you set up a LAN that's the default name subject to change by you. Your printer is part of your "network". Easier to understand this if it's wireless. At some point you'll probably be putting all your "pieces" together.
Thanks! I don't have a LAN that I know of. I am not wireless. I'm on the ether net. Why can't I move it around on the desk top or put it in an icon folder if eventually I will end up with it? Is there a way to do it? I really like to keep the desk top clean.
Thanks Corday! I admittedly am a computer dummy who just enjoys the internet andone who doesn't do much else with a computer other than print a few things.
