XP and DNS or cache not refreshing

Right then!!
Here's a well trodden problem that I can't sort out. See if you guys can give it the finger!

XP running Firefox or IE 7 won't pull pages from the new web host. It keeps resolving to the old host IP address.
Ah! I hear you say... "Did you clear the cache?"
You bet you're sisters pocket money I did! I also performed the following.
1) clear Firefox cache and restart
2) ipconfig flushdns and re-start
3) Change manual dns in network settings and restart.
4) net stop dnscache and restart.
5) Checked the hosts file (just in case some sneaky trojan was re-directing me.)

Thing is, W7 on the same subnet pulled up the new IP for the website straight away. So did Mandriva running Firefox on a different PC; same subnet and router. Just in case I bypassed the router DNS by using a public domain DNS on the local XP PC.. It STILL resolves to the old host.
I've tried switching off the DNS cache in XP services then switched it back on after flushing cache. Nothing seems to make the sucker forget the old IP.

Changing the hard drive with a back up copy of XP DID work, so this is definatly an XP problem.

I'm looking for some fresh eyes on this problem. It's a nightmare when updating web pages or moving hosts.

Thanks guys... Well.. here's the info:
It's Intranet, fixed IPs, IP4 no dhcp, through a Dlink router and BT fibre modem. Remember all other PC's update without any problems; including XP on a laptop.

I take it the host url is on the intranet also?

You are pointed to public dns which has no knowledge of your intranet.
You don't appear to have a intranet dns server.

This would mean that only by broadcasts would the pc be able to resolve the host name to a ip address.

What is the ip address of the host you speak of?
Lets see a nbtstat -c output as well as a route print output

Little confused at what you're asking.
10.1.1.254 is the gateway, and 62.69.62.6 the primary DNS server. It must be working or I couldn't resolve to this site.
Yes the DNS server has no knowledge .. and rightly so. Remember the other PC's on this subnet are the same config; and they all refresh perfectly.

nbtstat shows nothing in the cache. Again that's right because I'm clearing it to try and get a refreshed page.
Where's the old page information coming from?
Only when I swap the hard drive for a back up drive does the fresh page show.

Like I said Cache is empty. All PC's on the subnet show similar.
-------------------
C:\Documents and Settings\ifpc>nbtstat -c

Local Area Connection:
Node IpAddress: [10.1.1.106] Scope Id: []

No names in cache

C:\Documents and Settings\ifpc>

I can't see how this will help. Again this is the same on all network PC's (sans ip address)

Typical on start up is:
Record Name . . . . . : 1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa.
Record Type . . . . . : 12
Time To Live . . . . : 602245
Data Length . . . . . : 4
Section . . . . . . . : Answer
PTR Record . . . . . : localhost

And on pulling up a page or mail is :
pop3.connectfree.co.uk
----------------------------------------
Record Name . . . . . : pop3.connectfree.co.uk
Record Type . . . . . : 1
Time To Live . . . . : 550
Data Length . . . . . : 4
Section . . . . . . . : Answer
A (Host) Record . . . : 212.74.112.80
